  • STANDARDISED PRICE LIST

    All funeral directors are legally required to publish this Price List for a standardised set of products and services. This is to help you think through your options and make choices, and to let you compare prices between different funeral directors (because prices can vary).


    ATTENDED FUNERAL (funeral director’s charges only) – £2150.00

    This is a funeral where family and friends have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person at the same time as they attend their burial or cremation.

    Taking care of all necessary legal and administrative arrangements – £445.00

    Collecting and transporting the deceased person from the place of death (normally within 15 miles of the funeral director’s premises) into the funeral director’s care – £225.00

    Care of the deceased person before the funeral in appropriate facilities. The deceased person will be kept at the funeral director’s premises – £495.00

    Providing a suitable coffin – this will be made from oak wood-effect board – £445.00

    Viewing of the deceased person for family and friends, by appointment with the funeral director (where viewing is requested by the customer) – £50.00

    At a date and time you agree with the funeral director, taking the deceased person direct to the agreed cemetery or crematorium (normally within 20 miles of the funeral director’s premises) in a hearse or other appropriate vehicle – £440.00


    UNATTENDED FUNERAL

    This is a funeral where family and friends may choose to have a ceremony, event or service for the deceased person, but they do not attend the burial or cremation itself.

    Burial (funeral director’s charges only) – £1395.00

    Cremation (funeral director’s charges plus the cremation fee) (see note 2) – £1595


    FEES YOU MUST PAY

    For an Attended or Unattended burial funeral, the burial fee. (see note 1)

    In this local area, the typical cost of the burial fee for local residents is:

    For a new grave, you will also need to pay for the plot; for an existing grave with a memorial in place, you may need to pay a removal/replacement fee. In addition, the cemetery may charge a number of other fees. – £1397.00

    For an Attended cremation funeral, the cremation fee. (see note 2)

    In this local area, the typical cost of a cremation for local residents is – £939-£1220


    Please discuss any specific religious, belief-based and/or cultural requirements that you have with the funeral director.


    ADDITIONAL FUNERAL DIRECTOR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

    This funeral director may be able to supply a range of optional, additional products and services, or to arrange (on your behalf) for a third party to supply them. Examples include:

    Additional mileage (price per mile) – £2.00

    Additional transfers of the deceased person’s body (e.g. to their home, to a place of worship, etc.) (price per transfer) – £225.00

    Collection and delivery of ashes – no charge locally

    Embalming – £145.00

    Funeral officiant (e.g. celebrant, minister of religion, etc.) – from £240

    Services supplied outside of normal office hours – Prices on request

    The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.


    Note 1 – This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.

    Note 2 – In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors’ fees as well. This is the charge for two doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.

  • Traditional Funeral

    Traditional Funeral from £2595.00

    This is a bespoke service at a Church, Crematorium or Cemetery of your choice.

    Our experienced staff will guide you through all of the arrangements to provide a dignified, professional funeral service. We will liaise with all of the third parties involved and help you with all of the required paperwork. We will look after your loved one here in our chapel of rest until the day of the service. This is a bespoke service therefore there are many choices of coffins or transport available.

    This includes:

    • Conveyance of the deceased from place of death during normal working hours and within a 15 mile radius of our office
    • The necessary staff to carry out the funeral service to include 4 coffin bearers
    • An oak veneered coffin suitable for burial or cremation (other options are available)
    • A hearse to take the coffin to the funeral service
    • The use of our Chapel of Rest during office hours
    • Assistance with ordering flowers, placing of newspaper notices and printing of orders of service. (Not inclusive of their costs)
    • The administration of donations
    • Limousines and saloon cars available at an extra cost
    • Alternative funeral vehicles are available

    This price does not include disbursements such as Crematorium, Cremation certificate, Cemetery or Churchyard fee, Vicar or Minister or any other third party fee paid by ourselves on your behalf.


    Extra charges include:

    • Out of office hours conveyance from home address or Nursing Home – £225.00
    • Larger clients over 18 stone or coffin interior size over 6’2” x 22”may require a specially ordered coffin.
    • Each person is reviewed individually.
    • If a specially ordered coffin is required – Extra Charge.
    • Any additional administration may incur extra fees.
    • Any work outside of normal office hours/local area will incur extra fees.

    Payment

    • Disbursements (Third party fees) must be paid in full before the funeral.
    • Balance to be paid within 30 days of the invoice date.
    • 5% interest will be charged per month on any outstanding balance.
  • Simple Funeral

    Simple Funeral Service from £2150.00

    This is a simple funeral service at Exeter or East Devon Crematorium or one of the Exeter Cemeteries or Churchyards, (Graveside).

    Our experienced staff will guide you through all of the arrangements to provide a dignified professional funeral service. We will liaise with all of the third parties involved and help you with all of the required paperwork. We will look after your loved one here in our chapel of rest until the day of the service.

    This includes:

    • Our professional services
    • Conveyance of the deceased from place of death during normal working hours and within a 15 mile radius of our office
    • Necessary staff to carry out the funeral includes 4 coffin bearers
    • A simple coffin suitable for burial or cremation
    • A hearse to take the coffin straight to the Crematorium or Place of Burial

    This price does not include disbursements such as Crematorium, Cremation certificate, Cemetery or Churchyard fee, Vicar or Minister, order of service, obituaries, administration of donations or any other third party fee paid by ourselves on your behalf.


    Extra charges include:

    • Out of office hours conveyance from home address or Nursing Home – £225.00
    • The service to be held in a Church or different location before the Committal – £445.00
    • Larger clients over 18 stone or coffin interior size over 6’2” x 22”may require a specially ordered coffin.
    • Each person is reviewed individually.
    • If a specially ordered coffin is required – Extra Charge.
    • Extra fees may be charged should the Funeral Service take place more than three weeks from the date of death.
    • Any additional administration may incur extra fees.
    • Any work outside of normal office hours will incur extra fees.

    Payment

    • Disbursements (Third party fees) must be paid in full before the funeral.
    • Balance to be paid within 30 days of the invoice date.
    • 5% interest will be charged per month on any outstanding balance.
  • Non-Attended Funeral

    NON-ATTENDED CREMATION FROM £1045.00 PLUS DISBURSEMENTS BURIAL FROM £1395.OO PLUS DISBURSEMENTS

    This is a simple non-attended funeral at a local Crematorium or one of the Exeter Cemeteries for those people who do not wish to attend.

    We will make all of the necessary arrangements to provide a dignified and professional funeral at a time determined by ourselves.

    It means you can choose your own way to remember someone at a place and time that suits you.

    For some, a non-attended service takes away the stress of arranging a funeral, others choose to hold a Memorial Service at another time.

    This includes:

    • Our professional services where we will look after all of the required paperwork to provide a dignified funeral for your loved one.
    • Conveyance of the deceased from place of death during normal working hours and within a 10 mile radius of our office.
    • Necessary staff to carry out the funeral.
    • A basic coffin of our choice.
    • A vehicle to take the coffin to the Crematorium or Cemetery within a 5 mile radius of our office.
    • Funeral times are at our discretion.

    This price does not include disbursements such as Crematorium, Cremation certificate, Cemetery or Churchyard fee, Vicar or Minister, obituaries, administration of donations, use of Chapel of Rest or any other third party fee paid by ourselves on your behalf.


    This is a non-attended funeral

    Payment must be made in full before the funeral.


    Extra charges include:

    • The use of our Chapel of Rest during office hours. – £295.00
    • Out of office hours conveyance from home address or Nursing Homes. – £225.00
    • We will collect and look after the ashes for up to three months after which a monthly charge for storage will apply. – £10.00 per month
    • No charge for the applicant (person making the funeral arrangements) to collect the ashes from the Crematorium themselves.
    • Removal of Pacemaker, artificial limbs, plaster casts etc. if required. – £95.00
    • Larger clients over 18 stone or coffin interior size over 6’2” x 22”may require a specially ordered coffin. Each person is reviewed individually.
    • If a specially ordered coffin is required. – £250.00
    • Extra fees may be charged should the Funeral take place more than three weeks from the date of death.
    • Any additional administration will incur extra fees.
    • Any work outside of normal office hours will incur extra fees.

     


    Not included:

    • A Funeral Director at the Crematorium.
    • Choice of crematorium.
    • A hearse or limousine.
    • Arranging of floral tributes.
    • Funeral service or ceremony.
    • Minister or Celebrant.
    • Collection of donations.
    • Dressing the deceased in their own clothing.
    • Return of ashes from ourselves.
    • Costs for removing artificial limbs or pacemakers etc.
  • Direct Cremation

    Direct Cremation from £1595.00 including crematorium

    This is a non-attended cremation at a Crematorium of our choice for those people who do not wish to attend or visit the chapel of rest.

    It means you can choose your own way to remember someone at a place and time that suits you.

    For some, a direct cremation takes away the stress of arranging a funeral service.

    Others choose to hold a Celebration of Life /Memorial/Thanksgiving Service at another time or it could be that the person who has died didn’t want a fuss.

    This includes:

    • Our professional services where we will look after all of the required paperwork.
    • To provide a dignified cremation for your loved one.
    • Conveyance of the deceased from place of death during normal working hours and within a 5 mile radius of our office.
    • Necessary staff to carry out the funeral.
    • A basic coffin of our choice.
    • A suitable vehicle to take the coffin to the Crematorium.
    • Funeral times are at our discretion.
    • None of our other services can be added to a Direct Cremation.

    This price does include the cost of the cremation.

    This is a direct cremation Payment must be made in full before the cremation.


    Extra Charges:

    • To bring the deceased immediately into our care during office hours i.e. If they passed away at home or in a Nursing Home. – £125.00
    • Out of office hours conveyance from home address or Nursing Homes. – £225.00
    • Doctors cremation certificate if required. – £82.00
    • Removal of Pacemaker, artificial limbs, plaster casts etc. if required. – £95.00
    • Larger clients over 18 stone or coffin interior size over 6’2” x 22”may require a specially ordered coffin. Each person is reviewed individually. If a specially ordered coffin is required. – £250.00
    • Ashes will be held with ourselves until further instructions.
    • A charge for storage of ashes applies after three months. – £10.00 per month
    • Extra fees may be charged should the cremation take place more than three weeks from the date of death.
    • Any additional administration will incur extra fees.
    • Any work outside of normal office hours will incur extra fees.

    Not included and cannot be added to this service

    • A Funeral Director at the Crematorium.
    • Viewing of the deceased in our chapel of rest.
    • Choice of crematorium.
    • A hearse or limousines.
    • Arranging of floral tributes.
    • Funeral service or ceremony.
    • Minister or Celebrant.
    • Collection of donations.
    • Dressing the deceased in their own clothing.

    Exeter & Devon Crematorium – (St Peter’s Chapel 130 seats / St Paul’s Chapel 50 seats)

    • 10.30am to 4.30pm (60 minute booking) – £1220
    • 9.30am or 10.00am (60 minute booking) – £939
    • 9.00am or 9.30am (20 minutes attended no service) – £730
    • None attended/Cremation only – £550

    East Devon Crematorium – (Chapel has 90 seats)

    • 10.00am to 4.45pm (45minutes booking) – £1055.00
    • 8.30am – 9.00am & 9.30am (30 minutes booking) – £825.00

    All the above apply to work carried out in normal office hours in local area, extra fee will be incurred for work outside of normal office hours including bank holiday.
